Khánh Hòa Province Drives High‑End Island Tourism Growth in Vietnam
The provincial government of Khánh Hòa, after merging with Ninh Thuận, is positioning the region as a premium, integrated sea‑island tourism destination. In the first four months of 2026, international arrivals rose 33.8%, far outpacing the national average of 12.4%. Tourism revenue is projected to reach 27.4 trillion VND, a 34.6% increase year‑on‑year, with total visitor numbers expected to hit 49.6 million, including 13.6 million foreign tourists. New plans include the 12,000‑hectare Ninh Chữ National Tourism Zone and the development of a “multi‑center” tourism corridor spanning Vân Phong, Nha Trang, Cam Ranh, Vĩnh Hy and dozens of islands.
Alongside the economic push, Vietnam continues to safeguard its cultural heritage. Recent designations include the Sóc Bom Bo historic site in Đồng Nai, the preservation of the S’tiêng rice‑milling tradition, and the promotion of Cham manuscripts in Khánh Hòa. These efforts complement the tourism strategy by highlighting the nation's diverse history and intangible cultural assets, aiming to attract high‑value visitors while protecting local traditions.
