Kia and BYD launch new affordable electric vehicle models
The market for affordable electric vehicles (EVs) is expanding with the introduction of new, smaller models designed for mass-market accessibility.
Kia has launched the EV2 in the UK. The vehicle features a bold design consistent with the brand’s EV series and includes high-quality interior materials, dual displays, and heated front seats. While the interior offers generous storage and comfort, rear seat headroom may be limited for larger passengers. The model is available in Air, GT-Line, and GT-Line S trims.
BYD is also competing in the small electric SUV segment with the Atto 2. Reviews of the Atto 2 Boost trim highlight practical features such as a panoramic glass roof, heated steering wheel, and a vehicle-to-load system. However, while the vehicle offers a practical interior and decent luggage capacity, its value proposition is challenged by its pricing relative to competitors and certain performance aspects like body control and audio quality.
