Kia EV2 wins Best Electric City Car 2026 in Romania
The Kia EV2 has been named the winner of the Best Electric City Car 2026 competition in Romania. Competing in the mini category for vehicles under four meters in length, the Kia EV2 secured first place following urban testing and charging sessions conducted over a 30-kilometer route. The BYD Dolphin and Volkswagen ID. Polo tied for second place.
In the micro category, which includes L6e and L7e quadricycles, the Linktour Alumi was declared the winner. Public popularity awards were also presented, with the Renault 4 winning the general Popularity award and the Allview 4City winning the Popularity 16 award.
Other special awards included the Dacia Spring for Consumption, Nieve Q-eN for Accessibility, VW ID. Polo for Comfort, and BYD Dolphin for Personality. The competition, organized by FloteAuto in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests, highlights growing interest in electric mobility. Data from the Arval Mobility Observatory indicates that 24% of participating Romanian companies already operate electrified technologies, while 38% intend to implement them within the next three years, though 80% of companies cite charging infrastructure as a primary obstacle.
