Bentley and Kia advance electric vehicle lineups with new models
Automakers are advancing their electric vehicle lineups with new luxury and compact offerings. Bentley has unveiled the Torcal, its first electric model scheduled for a 2027 launch. The five-meter crossover features a 113 kWh battery, 800-volt architecture, and a range of up to 600 kilometers. To maintain its brand identity, Bentley introduced a ‘Dynamic Symphony’ soundscape using instruments like the viola and drums to mimic V8 engine characteristics. Expected pricing for the Torcal is approximately 200,000 euros, with the high-performance Torcal S reaching roughly 232,000 euros.
Kia continues to expand its EV portfolio with the EV2 and EV6. The EV2 is a compact electric SUV positioned as an affordable entry point, with some markets seeing leasing offers as low as 78.66 euros per month following government grants. The EV2 features a 42.2 kWh battery and a range of up to 317 km. Meanwhile, the EV6 remains a notable model in the lineup, though reviews suggest it faces stiff competition from rivals like the Tesla Model Y regarding pricing and market value.
