Kia expands PV5 Chassis Cab battery options for longer range

Kia is expanding the battery options for its PV5 Chassis Cab, a fully electric chassis designed for various commercial conversions. For the 2027 model year, the vehicle will be available with a higher-capacity 71.2 kWh battery in addition to the standard 51.5 kWh option.

The new high-capacity version is intended for fleet operators requiring longer driving ranges between charges. The 71.2 kWh battery provides up to 120 kW of power and can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes using a DC fast charger.

The PV5 is part of Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) strategy and has received accolades including ‘International Van of the Year 2026’. The model features a futuristic design with a focus on practicality, including large glass surfaces for better visibility and a modular interior designed for cargo or passenger use.
