Kia launches 5th PBV Idea Contest to develop PV5 solutions

Kia has announced its 5th annual Purpose Built Vehicle (PBV) Idea Contest, aiming to integrate consumer feedback and innovative concepts into the development of its upcoming PV5 model. The competition seeks to enhance the utility of the PV5 through various specialized applications.

The contest is divided into five distinct categories: Conversion, Accessories, Solutions, Business, and General. The Conversion category targets specialized vehicle businesses to propose structural or functional improvements. The Accessories category focuses on modular products and interior/exterior space utilization. The Solutions category invites startups and software developers to create app-based services for logistics, utility, or camping. The Business category seeks new revenue models, while the General category allows individuals and small business owners to suggest improvements from a user perspective.

Kia will award a total of 35 million won in prize money to 16 selected teams. The grand prize winner will receive 10 million won, with additional prizes for top performers in each category. The company intends to use these ideas for actual product development, testing, and sales to foster a broader PBV ecosystem.
