Kia launches 7‑seat PV5 Passenger EV; Santana unveils Cajal 4x4 in Spain

Kia introduced a seven‑seat version of its PV5 Passenger electric van. The vehicle measures 4.70 m long, seats three rows of passengers, and offers 163 hp (120 kW) from a front‑axle motor paired with a 71.2 kWh battery delivering a WLTP‑quoted 390 km range. Production is set to begin in mid‑July, with fast‑charging capability of up to 150 kW, a V2L function, and a seven‑year/150,000‑km warranty. Interior upgrades include a 12.9‑inch infotainment screen, a 7.5‑inch instrument display, and an adjustable armrest.

Santana announced the Cajal, the second model following the 400, named after Spanish Nobel laureate Santiago Ramón y Cajal. Built on the Chinese BAIC BJ40 PRO platform, the 4×4 is offered in plug‑in hybrid (PHEV) and diesel variants. It measures 4.7 m in length, 1.9 m wide, and 1.9 m high with a 2.7 m wheelbase, and accommodates five occupants. Powertrains include a 2.0 L gasoline engine delivering 180 kW (245 hp) and a 2.0 L diesel engine producing 120 kW (163 hp), both with permanent four‑wheel drive and up to 11 selectable driving modes. The model features a rear split gate, independent front suspension, and a robust steel ladder frame.
