Kia unveils new K4 Sportswagon, K4 hatchback, EV5 EV and PV5 cargo van

Kia announced a series of new models for 2026. In Portugal the company will replace the Ceed Sportswagon with the K4 Sportswagon, a five‑door compact wagon measuring 4.695 m in length and offering a longer wheelbase and larger cargo area than its predecessor, aimed at buyers seeking a more affordable alternative to C‑segment SUVs.

In Canada the K4 hatchback was introduced, featuring a distinctive floating roof line, a 1.6‑litre turbocharged engine (190 hp) or a 2‑litre naturally aspirated unit (147 hp), and a spacious interior that rivals rivals such as the Honda Civic. Reviewers note its modern styling, a well‑crafted cabin and a balanced ride, though visibility and braking could be improved.

The EV5 compact electric SUV, reviewed in French‑language publications, adopts a bold cubic shape, a 400‑volt platform and a modest battery pack that provides an estimated WLTP range of around 350‑416 km. Interior quality is praised, while criticisms include frequent driver‑alert beeps, a relatively large turning radius and the lack of a standard heat pump.

Kia also entered the electric light‑commercial segment with the PV5 Cargo van. Built on a 400‑volt e‑GMP chassis, it houses a 68 kWh battery delivering a WLTP‑rated range of about 416 km and a payload of 690 kg. Consumption measured at 19‑20 kWh/100 km yields a practical range near 345 km under mixed conditions, with DC fast‑charging reaching 80 % in roughly 30 minutes.
