Kia launches Syros electric SUV in India with prices from Rs 13.49 lakh

Kia India launched the Syros EV, its second mass‑market electric SUV built locally, on July 30. The vehicle is priced ex‑showroom from Rs 13.49 lakh for the base model up to Rs 19.99 lakh for the top‑of‑the‑line trim.

The Syros is offered with two battery packs: a 42 kWh pack delivering a certified range of 443 km and 135 hp, and a 51.4 kWh pack providing a segment‑leading 526 km range with 171 hp and a 0‑100 km/h time of about 8.1 seconds. Standard equipment includes dual 12.3‑inch screens, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and 25 safety features; higher trims add a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, a Harman Kardon audio system and Level‑2 ADAS.

Kia introduced a Battery‑as‑a‑Service (BaaS) model that separates chassis financing from battery usage, starting at Rs 7.99 lakh with a per‑kilometre charge of Rs 3.3. The company also offers a lifetime high‑voltage battery warranty (15 years, unlimited kilometres) and an assured buy‑back programme guaranteeing up to 80 % resale value after three years.
