Kia launches affordable Syros EV SUV in India with 526‑km range
Kia Motor has introduced the Syros EV, a compact electric SUV built in India, priced between ₹13.5 lakh (≈ US$14,000) and ₹20 lakh (≈ US$20,700). The model offers five variants and two battery packs: a 42 kWh pack delivering a claimed 443 km range and a 51.4 kWh pack promising up to 526 km on the ARAI MID cycle, making it the first vehicle in its segment to exceed the 500‑km mark.
The Syros EV is powered by a 171‑horse‑power front‑wheel‑drive electric motor, supports 100 kW DC fast charging (10‑80 % in 39 minutes), and includes Level‑2 ADAS safety features, a 30‑inch Trinity infotainment suite, and a 15‑year warranty on the battery system. Delivery to customers is slated to begin on 30 July 2026, with seven versions available at launch.
Kia positions the Syros EV as a budget‑friendly alternative to other Indian electric SUVs such as Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO, aiming to broaden EV adoption in the country's rapidly growing market.
