Kia PV5 electric van gets Canadian pricing as affordable EV option

Kia announced that its first purpose‑built electric van, the PV5, will be priced from CAD 46,995 for the Basic trim and CAD 49,095 for the Plus trim when it launches in Canada in the fourth quarter of 2026. The cargo‑style model carries a 71.2 kWh battery delivering up to 223 miles (360 km) of range, supports fast charging via a built‑in NACS port, and qualifies for Canada’s Electric Vehicle Affordability Program, which can provide up to CAD 5,000 off the purchase price. The Basic version includes a 7‑inch driver display, a 12.9‑inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and advanced driver‑assist features, while the Plus trim adds a wireless phone charger, V2L capability, heated seats and steering wheel, and additional safety cameras.

The PV5 was first shown at the 2026 Busan Mobility Show in South Korea, where Kia displayed three configurations – Prime, Cargo High Roof, and a seven‑seat passenger version – and unveiled a custom Ben & Jerry’s ice‑cream truck built on the PV5 chassis. The concept features a box‑style rear body, serving counter, freezer and menu boards, and bears the brand’s “Peace, Love & Ice Cream” graphics. Kia indicated the ice‑cream‑truck concept could appear on roads next year and that the PV5 chassis is being tested for possible U.S. market entry, though no launch date has been confirmed. The van is already on sale in Korea and Europe and is expected to expand to additional markets throughout 2026.
