Kia PV5 electric van leads European market and enters Philippine DOE list

The Kia PV5 electric van has achieved significant market success in Europe and is moving toward a potential launch in the Philippines. In Europe, the PV5 has become the most popular electric light commercial vehicle in its segment, capturing a 37% market share in the C-segment during the first half of 2026. It held market shares exceeding 50% in Denmark, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, and the United Kingdom.

In the Philippines, the PV5 has appeared on the Department of Energy’s list of electric vehicles. Documentation specifically highlights the long-wheelbase cargo variant, which features a 51.5kWh battery providing a 384km NEDC range, a 161hp motor, and vehicle-to-load functionality. The cargo version offers 4,420 liters of space and a maximum payload of 790kg.

Built on the E-GMP platform, the PV5 range includes Cargo, Passenger, and Chassis Cab configurations. The vehicle has received industry recognition, including the International Van of the Year 2026 award, and has set a Guinness World Record for efficiency by traveling 693.38 kilometers on a single charge.
