Kia supplies customized PV5 electric vehicles to Korea Post

Kia has announced the supply of its customized Purpose Built Vehicle (PBV), the ‘The Kia PV5’ cargo model, to Korea Post to optimize mail collection and delivery operations. Starting this month, a total of 200 units will be sequentially deployed to post offices across South Korea.

Developed using the E-GMP.S dedicated electrification platform, the PV5 cargo features a low-floor design to reduce physical strain during frequent boarding and exiting. The vehicles are also equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to enhance safety. Following a two-month field test with postal workers, Kia implemented specific improvements such as door damage prevention, aluminum cargo floors, and loading area flattening to facilitate easier mail handling.

Beyond vehicle supply, Kia plans to support Korea Post’s transition to electric vehicles by providing EV training for managers, customized charging solutions, and maintenance services.
