Kia to launch Syros EV and Sorento Hybrid SUVs in India

Kia India announced plans to introduce two new electrified models in 2026: the Kia Syros electric SUV and the Kia Sorento hybrid SUV.

The Syros EV, positioned as a sub‑compact mass‑market EV, is expected to launch around July‑August 2026 with a price range of roughly ₹14‑20 lakh and a battery capacity of 42‑49 kWh, giving an estimated WLTP range of 300‑355 km.

The Sorento Hybrid, Kia’s first three‑row hybrid for India, is slated for a late‑2026 release with a price of about ₹35‑45 lakh. It will use a 1.6‑litre turbo‑petrol engine paired with an electric motor delivering around 227 hp and 350 Nm, and will be offered in both front‑wheel‑drive and all‑wheel‑drive versions.

Both models aim to compete with existing EVs such as the Tata Nexon EV and premium SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, expanding Kia’s portfolio as the company posted its strongest sales in India in June 2026.
