Kia to launch Syros EV and Sorento SUV in India with premium features
Kia India is preparing to introduce two new SUV models to the Indian market. The Syros EV, positioned as the brand's smallest electric SUV, is slated for bookings at select dealerships from July 23. It will offer two battery options—42 kWh with a claimed 443 km range and 51.4 kWh with up to 520 km range—alongside Level‑2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats and a long‑term battery warranty.
The Kia Sorento, a three‑row SUV, is expected to launch around the Diwali season. It may be offered with hybrid or diesel powertrains, the hybrid delivering roughly 227 bhp and the diesel about 202 bhp. Six‑ and seven‑seat layouts will be available, and premium equipment such as dual 12.3‑inch screens, powered driver seat, ambient lighting, 360° camera and Level‑2 ADAS is anticipated. Pricing is projected between ₹40 lakh and ₹50 lakh, putting it in competition with the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron R‑Line, Toyota Fortuner and MG Majestor.
