Kia unveils 7‑seat electric PV5 Passenger van for families and commercial use

Kia is expanding its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) range with a new PV5 Passenger variant that adds a third row of seats, creating a 7‑seat electric van. The vehicle retains the same outer dimensions as the existing model (4,695 mm long, 1,895 mm wide, 1,869 mm high) and features a 2‑2‑3 seating layout, low 399 mm floor height and sliding doors for easy access to the second and third rows. Cargo space is 318 L with all seats up, expanding to 785 L when the third row is folded.

Power comes from a 120 kW (163 hp) electric motor fed by a 71.2 kWh battery, delivering a WLTP‑certified range of up to about 390 km. Fast DC charging at up to 150 kW can raise the battery from 10 % to 80 % in less than 30 minutes. The van also offers Vehicle‑to‑Load (V2L) capability to power external devices. Inside, a digital cockpit includes a 12.9‑inch infotainment screen, a 7.5‑inch instrument cluster, OTA software updates and integration with Kia’s fleet‑management platform.

According to Erhan Eren, Kia Europe’s PBV Director, the 7‑seat PV5 “redefines what customers can expect from an electric van, maximizing flexibility while providing comfort and space.” Orders will open in the second half of 2026, with pricing for the Italian market to be announced later. The model is part of Kia’s broader PBV strategy that will see the PV7 arrive in 2027 and the PV9 in 2029.
