Kia unveils PV7 electric commercial van at IAA Transportation
Kia has unveiled the PV7, its second dedicated electric Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) model, at the IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany. Built on the E-GMP.S architecture, the PV7 is designed for high modularity to serve both commercial logistics and passenger transport.
The vehicle will be offered in Cargo and Passenger configurations. The Cargo version features options for compact, long, and high-roof models, providing up to 8.0 cubic meters of space and a payload capacity of up to 1,200 kg. The Passenger version can accommodate between seven and nine occupants in most markets, with an 11-seat configuration planned specifically for South Korea.
Technologically, the PV7 utilizes an 800-volt electrical architecture, enabling rapid DC charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 to 25 minutes. It is equipped with nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) batteries in 71.5 kWh and 96.2 kWh capacities. The long-range Cargo model is expected to achieve a WLTP-rated range of over 460 km. The vehicle also features advanced digital tools, including the Pleos Connect infotainment system and Gleo AI.
Kia plans to launch the PV7 in South Korea and Europe during the second half of 2027, with plans to eventually introduce 23 different variants and specialized conversions.
