Kia unveils PV7 electric commercial vehicle at IAA Transportation

Kia has unveiled the PV7, a new all-electric commercial vehicle, at the IAA Transportation show in Hanover. Part of the company’s ‘Platform Beyond Vehicle’ (PBV) lineup, the PV7 is built on the E-GMP architecture and features an 800-volt system.

The model is available in two primary configurations: the PV7 Passenger and the PV7 Cargo. The passenger version offers flexible seating for seven to nine people globally, with up to eleven seats available in South Korea. The cargo variant, including a ‘High Roof’ option, provides a cargo volume of up to 8.0 cubic meters and a maximum payload capacity of 1,200 kg.

Technical specifications include two lithium-ion NMC battery options: a 71.5 kWh standard battery and a 96.2 kWh long-range battery. The vehicle also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing the battery to power external tools or devices. Kia plans to begin commercializing the PV7 in South Korea and Europe during 2027, with a gradual rollout to other markets to follow.
