Kia updates Niro hybrid as Lynk & Co launches high‑performance 07 GT hybrid

Kia has introduced an extensively refreshed Niro, now offered only with a hybrid powertrain. The new model combines a 1.6‑litre GDI gasoline engine with a 43 hp electric motor for a combined output of 138 hp, front‑wheel drive and a six‑speed dual‑clutch gearbox. It claims fuel consumption of 4.1–5.7 L/100 km and a starting price of €24,410 after discounts. The redesign includes a 12.3‑inch dual‑screen cockpit, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA updates, wireless phone charging, a head‑up display and Digital Key 2.0, as well as an expanded ADAS suite with hand‑on‑wheel detection and remote parking.

In China, Lynk & Co unveiled the 07 GT, a midsize sedan built on Geely’s CMA platform with a plug‑in hybrid EM‑P system. The top‑spec Ultra version delivers 530 hp via all‑wheel drive, accelerating from 0‑100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. It is powered by a 1.5‑litre turbocharged four‑cylinder engine coupled with a three‑speed transmission and a 28.3 kWh lithium‑ion battery, offering up to 1,422 km of combined range. Prices range from €21,400 to €27,000, and a limited Time Limited Edition of 1,007 units sold out instantly. While the model is not slated for European sale, Lynk & Co’s larger 10+ sedan is expected to arrive in Spain later this year.
