Kidnappings in Nigeria's Ogun and Oyo States Spur Police Rescue Efforts

In Ogun State, four gun‑wielding men abducted two residents, Kelvin Ayobami Moyegun and Kehinde Rufai, and shot Al‑haqq Shobakin, who remains in hospital. The Ogun State Police Command, Amotekun Corps and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps deployed units to locate the victims and arrest the perpetrators, with DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirming the operation.

In Oyo State, police, Amotekun, local vigilantes and hunters rescued a couple, Alhaji Busiru Booni and Alhaja Pitiku, after they were taken from Tiro Village, Irawo on July 5. The joint team recovered a stolen Bajaj motorcycle, engaged the kidnappers in a gunbattle, and the suspects fled with injuries while the couple received medical care and were released to their family.
