Kiiraay Les Patriotes Républicains expands activities and calls for infrastructure in Senegal

The Kiiraay Les Patriotes Républicains political coalition has launched official activities in Thiomby, within the Kaolack department of Senegal. Led by deputy communal coordinator Ngor Sarr, the party aims to strengthen its presence across 26 villages and hamlets through a planned political tour to engage local populations and establish grassroots cells.

In the Koumpentoum department, local elected officials affiliated with the Kiiraay coalition are calling on the Senegalese government to prioritize infrastructure development. Officials, including Koumpentoum Mayor Sidy Traoré and Kouthiaba Wolof Mayor Abdoulaye Ndao, highlighted the urgent need to asphalt secondary roads connecting municipalities to National Road 1.

They noted that current road conditions isolate several areas, hindering access to healthcare and the transport of agricultural products to markets. Specifically, officials requested the inclusion of the 144-kilometer route linking Koussanar, Méréto, and Payar in the state's connectivity programs to alleviate the economic and social isolation of the region.
