KIIRAAY party faces internal challenges during organizational rollout

The KIIRAAY political party is undergoing a period of organizational structuring and internal tension across Senegal. In Thiès-Nord, the party has installed its communal coordination, with founding member Massamba Diop elected as coordinator. While the party is attempting a massification strategy led by General Supervisor Aminata Touré, local observers note challenges including internal discord, a lack of concrete political strategy, and strong competition from the PASTEF movement.

In Kaolack, founding member Me Diaraf Sow has criticized a recent communiqué from the local coordination, labeling it a “political and strategic error.” Sow urged party leaders to prioritize cohesion and dialogue, arguing that publicizing internal disputes during the party’s formative phase harms its image. He emphasized that the party is still in a transitional period of building cells and sectors, and that internal disagreements should be resolved privately to avoid appearing divided.
