Kileler Municipality conducts restoration works following Storm Daniel

Restoration efforts are underway in the Kileler Municipality to repair damage caused by Storm Daniel. The interventions focus on the road network, stream beds, and the construction and repair of technical infrastructure that suffered severe damage from extreme weather events.

On the Myra – Neo Perivoli road section, repairs have been implemented at four specific locations. These include the construction of new hydraulic structures near the Holy Monastery of Panagia Kritsilar, the reconstruction of approximately 650 meters of road surface, and the reshaping of stream beds using gabions and raw stone layers for soil stabilization and drainage. In the Neo Perivoli settlement, a new double box culvert was constructed.

Additionally, work is progressing on the Sofo – Lamia-Larissa National Road. Repairs at three damaged points include the construction of new box culverts, the building of a new 20-meter long pile bridge, and the reshaping of embankments and stream beds. These efforts aim to improve infrastructure resilience against future extreme weather phenomena.
