Kileler infrastructure restoration and development
Overview
Following the damage caused by Storm Daniel, the Kileler Municipality has been engaged in extensive restoration and infrastructure development projects.
Restoration efforts have focused on repairing the road network, reshaping stream beds for drainage, and constructing hydraulic structures. Specific works include road surface reconstruction on the Myra – Neo Perivoli section, the installation of a new double box culvert in Neo Perivoli, and repairs to the Sofo – Lamia-Larissa National Road involving new pile bridges and embankments. These interventions aim to improve resilience against future extreme weather.
In addition to storm recovery, local officials have met with the Greek Minister of Infrastructure and Transport to discuss long-term projects. Key priorities include the proposed 45-kilometer road connection between Larissa and Farsala, as well as railway improvements such as a parallel road along the Larissa-Volos line and the construction of a new railway bridge in Chalki.
