Kilis security forces conduct 138 anti‑terror operations, break up two crime gangs

Governor Ömer Kalaylı reported that in the three‑month period covering April to June, security and law‑enforcement agencies in Kilis Province carried out 138 operations against terrorism, organised crime, drug trafficking and cyber offences. The actions led to the arrest of four suspects, the detention of two, and judicial control measures for one individual. Two additional operations targeted the FETÖ terrorist network, resulting in two more arrests.

In total, 179 wanted persons were captured and handed over to the authorities, while procedures were initiated against another 437 individuals. Jandarma forces dismantled two organised‑crime cells. Drug‑related seizures included 18.8 kg of cannabis, 10,906 captagon pills, 57 ecstasy tablets, 75 g of bonzai, 27 g of sukunk, 16 g of methamphetamine, 13 g of hemp, synthetic medicines and 2 g of cocaine. Cyber‑crime raids led to legal actions against 40 suspects, and seven operations against illegal betting, payment‑system fraud and other computer crimes resulted in 23 detentions, 17 of whom were arrested. Three separate child‑exploitation investigations resulted in three more detentions. The briefing was attended by Jandarma Commander Halil Coşkun and Police Chief Aykut Korkmaz, and also covered ongoing voluntary‑return efforts for Syrian refugees through the Öncüpınar and Çobanbey centres.
