Kilkis Municipality to provide €1,000 newborn allowance

The Municipality of Kilkis has announced a new initiative to provide a one-time, tax-free allowance of €1,000 for every newborn child. The measure is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2027.

The benefit is available to permanent residents and citizens of the Kilkis Municipality, regardless of income criteria. It applies to married couples, couples in civil unions, and single-parent families.

The municipality stated that the goal of the subsidy is to provide practical support to families, encourage new couples to have children, and offer financial relief to parents for expenses arising in the first months following a birth.
