Kilkis police chase over phone fraud injures two officers and victim
Police in the village of Sevastis, Kilkis, Greece, moved to arrest two men suspected of an attempted telephone‑fraud scheme targeting a 50‑year‑old resident. The suspects had called the man, claiming he owed money to the tax authority and demanded he leave jewelry and cash outside his home for collection. When the police confronted the suspects, one accomplice fled in a vehicle, striking and injuring two officers and the victim. The chase ended with one suspect captured; the second, identified as coming from Tyrnavos, remains at large.
The incident caused injuries to the two officers and the 50‑year‑old citizen but no fatalities. The Hellenic Police continue to search for the fleeing suspect.
