Kim Seong-jung appointed as Incheon Administrative Vice Mayor

Incheon Metropolitan City has appointed Kim Seong-jung, currently the Administrative Vice Governor of Gyeonggi Province, as the new Administrative Vice Mayor. Kim is scheduled to officially take office on September 28, following an appointment by Mayor Park Chan-dae.

The appointment ends a nearly four-month vacancy in the position that has existed since former Vice Mayor Ha Byeong-pil resigned in early June. The move is expected to stabilize the administrative leadership of the 9th popularly elected local government.

Kim is a career administrator with extensive experience in both central and local governments. His previous roles include serving in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, working in the Blue House (Presidential Office) during the Moon Jae-in administration, and serving as Administrative Vice Governor of Jeju Province. He is expected to play a key role in securing national budget funds, managing organizational restructuring, and supporting the Mayor's primary campaign promises and next year's budget planning.
