Kim Soo-hyun cleared of grooming charges involving Kim Sae-ron

South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun has been cleared of charges involving the alleged grooming of the late actress Kim Sae-ron. The investigation, which lasted approximately one year and four months, has effectively concluded after prosecutors returned the case files to the police without requesting further investigation.

The allegations were brought by Kim Sae-ron’s family and Kim Se-ui, CEO of the Garosero Research Institute. The family had claimed that Kim Soo-hyun engaged in sexual abuse and harassment while the actress was a minor in middle school, violating the Child Welfare Act. Additionally, Kim Se-ui had filed counterclaims for false accusation following a defamation suit by the actor.

The Seoul Seongdong Police Station decided not to prosecute Kim Soo-hyun, citing insufficient evidence to support the allegations of child abuse, coercion, or sexual harassment. Authorities stated that after a comprehensive review of the submitted materials and facts, the charges could not be substantiated.
