Kimi Antonelli takes Monaco Grand Prix pole and race win for Mercedes

Italian driver Kimi Antonelli secured pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix with a lap of 1:12.051, edging out Max Verstappen by 0.043 seconds. He highlighted the team's overnight setup changes, saying the car “felt much more alive” and allowed him to push without worrying about battery limits.

Antonelli went on to win the race from pole, marking his fifth career victory and his first Monaco win. He described the day as “one of the days I felt best ever,” noting that the only thing that could have stopped him was himself. The driver also reflected on personal growth, stating that “I have matured a lot compared with last year, and the tough moments have changed my mindset.”
