King Abdulaziz International Holy Quran Competition concludes in Makkah

The 46th King Abdulaziz International Holy Quran Competition concluded with an awards ceremony held at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. Representing King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah, honored the winners. The ceremony, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, also included a special recognition for female winners, marking the first time a female category was introduced in the competition's history.

The competition featured 334 contestants representing 133 countries. A total of 50 winners were selected across five different categories, with total prize money amounting to 10,260,000 Saudi Riyals.

In the first category (full memorization with recitation and Tajweed), Abdulrahman bin Mukhtar bin Ahmed Mohammed from Saudi Arabia secured first place with a prize of 500,000 Riyals. In the second category (memorization with interpretation), Omar bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Subaih from Saudi Arabia took first place, receiving 300,000 Riyals. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including religious officials and international representatives.
