King Abdulaziz International Quran Competition

The 46th King Abdulaziz International Quran Competition concluded in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with an awards ceremony held at the Grand Mosque. Under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah, honored the winners.

The competition, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, featured 334 contestants from 133 countries. A total of 50 winners were recognized across five categories, with the total prize pool amounting to 10,260,000 Saudi Riyals. This edition was notable for the introduction of a dedicated female category, marking the first time women were included in the competition’s history.

Key winners included Abdulrahman bin Mukhtar bin Ahmed Mohammed from Saudi Arabia, who secured first place in the first category (full memorization with recitation and Tajweed) with a prize of 500,000 Riyals. In the second category (memorization with interpretation), Omar bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Subaih of Saudi Arabia took first place, receiving 300,000 Riyals. The event was attended by various religious officials and international representatives.
