King Mswati III gifts Eswatini nationals in Taiwan

During a visit to Taiwan, King Mswati III announced a special royal gift for Eswatini nationals living and working in the country. Every Eswatini citizen present at a gathering in Taipei was set to receive US$500 (approximately E8,000).

Addressing students and professionals, the King emphasized the importance of the Taiwan Industrial and Innovation Park (TIIP) as a model for Eswatini’s national industrialization strategy. He noted that the E6 billion TIIP project is intended to include industrial spaces, residential areas, and energy infrastructure to attract investors and create jobs.

The King challenged the government and EmaSwati citizens to develop additional regional industrial parks that match or exceed the standards set by the TIIP. He highlighted the need for sustainable funding and energy solutions, mentioning discussions regarding renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and biomass to support future industrial growth.
