Kinofest 2026 to offer five-euro movie tickets across Germany

The Kinofest 2026 is scheduled to take place across Germany on September 12 and 13, 2026. During this nationwide event, participating cinemas will offer all seats for all included films at a flat rate of five euros.

In the Allgäu region, participating venues include Alpenfilmtheater Füssen, Cineplex Memmingen, CICO Cinema Corona, and Filmhaus Huber. In the Nuremberg area, participating theaters include Cinecitta’, Metropolis, Manhattan, and Meisengeige. While some venues like Cineplex Nürnberg are offering alternative discounts, they are not part of the specific five-euro promotion.

The festival comes amid a resurgence in German cinema attendance. According to the Filmförderungsanstalt (FFA), 47.5 million tickets were sold in the first half of the year, with high-performing titles such as the Super Mario film and biographical dramas driving interest. There is optimism that total ticket sales for the year could exceed 100 million.
