The festival follows a successful 2025 event that recorded 1.65 million visitors. It occurs during a period of rising cinema attendance in Germany; data from the Filmförderungsanstalt (FFA) indicates that 47.5 million tickets were sold in the first half of the year, leading to projections that annual sales could exceed 100 million. Participating cinemas, such as CinemaxX Trier, will screen a variety of films ranging from recent releases to special programming.
