Kiren Rijiju dismisses Congress ‘vote chori’ allegations using Kapil Sibal speech

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has criticized the Congress party regarding its allegations of ‘vote chori’ (vote theft), labeling the opposition's protests as ‘drama’. Rijiju used a past parliamentary speech by former Union Law Minister Kapil Sibal to argue that the Congress party's claims are unfounded.

In the shared video, Sibal explains the specific legal categories under which names are removed from electoral rolls, such as relocation between constituencies, duplicate entries, or the death of a voter. Rijiju stated that while he disagrees with Sibal’s past political stances, Sibal’s previous explanation of the electoral process effectively exposes the current allegations made by the Congress party.

Rijiju also cited former Law Minister M. Veerappa Moily, claiming his past remarks in the Lok Sabha undermined the opposition's position on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). These comments follow a march by INDIA bloc MPs toward the Election Commission headquarters to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
