Kissamos Municipality launches veterinary care initiative

The Municipality of Kissamos, in collaboration with ZERO STRAY PAWJECT and the volunteer veterinary group ‘Noah’s Ark of Crete’, is organizing a veterinary care program for companion animals from November 1 to November 6, 2026.

The initiative targets livestock farmers and pet owners from vulnerable social groups. The program aims to promote responsible pet ownership, protect animal health, and prevent uncontrolled breeding through various services.

Scheduled services include primary veterinary examinations, internal and external parasite treatments, microchipping, and sterilization. DNA sampling will also be conducted where applicable. The program will operate in Agios Georgios – Gravousa from November 1–4 and in Elos from November 5–6.
