Kitan Club and director Ryo Fujii announce new horror film

Kitan Club, the capsule toy manufacturer, has announced the production of a new feature-length horror film to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The project marks a reunion with director and screenwriter Ryo Fujii, known for his work on ‘Taroman’ and ‘The Great Long Version: Taroman Expo Explosion.’

Described as a ‘strange toy movie,’ the untitled project is being produced by Fujii’s Gosei Studio. A teaser trailer released on Kitan Club’s official YouTube channel features a mysterious toy store commercial and monsters shaped like capsule toy containers.

Director Ryo Fujii stated that rather than creating a quiet or intellectual horror film, he aims to produce something loud, absurd, and fun that leaves audiences laughing and wondering ‘what was that?’ The film is scheduled for release in 2027.
