KJ Apa stars in new Jimmy Stewart biopic ‘Jimmy’

The final trailer has been released for ‘Jimmy’, a biographical film starring KJ Apa as the iconic American actor James Stewart. Directed by Aaron Burns, the movie explores the transformative years of Stewart’s life, specifically focusing on his military service during World War II.

The film depicts Stewart’s journey from winning an Academy Award for ‘The Philadelphia Story’ to enlisting as a combat pilot and commander in the U.S. Army Air Corps. It covers his 20 combat missions over Europe and his rise to the rank of colonel before his return to Hollywood to film ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’.

The cast includes Max Casella as Frank Capra, Jason Alexander as Louis B. Mayer, and Kara Killmer as Lady Julia. Stewart’s daughter, Kelly Stewart-Harcourt, who appears in the film, praised Apa’s performance for bringing the character to life without relying on a mere impersonation. The film is scheduled to arrive in select U.S. theaters on November 6.
