Küçükçekmece district initiates extensive mosquito and pest spraying campaign

The Küçükçekmece municipality has launched a district‑wide spraying operation to eliminate mosquitoes, black flies and other pests as temperatures rise. Veterinary Services teams are conducting year‑long larval control and, from June, night‑time treatments targeting adult insects. Spraying covers parks, gardens, stream beds, sewage lines and other breeding sites, using products approved by the World Health Organization and licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health. Veterinarian Çiğdem Eral advised residents to prevent standing water at homes and workplaces, saying, "We recommend citizens check and remove water accumulations in pots and storage areas." The program will continue throughout the summer to ensure a healthier and more comfortable season for local residents.
