KLA leaders await Special Court verdict in The Hague

The Special Court in The Hague is scheduled to deliver its verdict regarding former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) on September 16. The defendants include Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, and Jakup Krasniqi, who have been in detention since November 2020. All four individuals have maintained their innocence against allegations of war crimes.

In anticipation of the ruling, the platform ‘Liria ka Emër’ has organized various demonstrations and countdown activities across Kosovo, including in Deçan and Pristina. A ‘Freedom March’ is planned for September 12 in Pristina, and a ‘Waiting Night’ will be held in The Hague on September 15 to support the defendants. These activities have garnered support from Albanian communities in Kosovo, Albania, and North Macedonia.
