Kladno hosts 11th annual Toughest Firefighter Alive competition

The 11th annual Toughest Firefighter Alive (TFA) competition, organized by the Fire Rescue Service of the Central Bohemian Region, took place in Kladno at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of the Czech Technical University. The event tested the physical endurance and skill of firefighters through seven demanding disciplines, including working with hoses, overcoming barriers, using heavy hammers, carrying 20-kilogram cylinders, and climbing seven floors.

Participants completed the course in full protective gear, including helmets, gloves, and breathing apparatus. The competition held symbolic weight as it was held on September 11, serving as a tribute to the firefighters who risked and lost their lives during the 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States.

In the team category, firefighters from Příbram won ahead of Mladá Boleslav and Benešov. Individual winners included Zdeněk Podzimek from Mladá Boleslav in the under-39 category and Dušan Plodr from Beroun in the over-40 category.
