Kladno to build new bridge as Slovak residency laws change
In Kladno, Czechia, a new pedestrian and cyclist bridge is planned to reconnect Kročehlav with the Sletiště area. The project, estimated to cost approximately 20 million CZK (excluding VAT), is scheduled for construction by Správa železnic next year. The bridge will be attached to the railway bridge, restoring connections that were severed during the modernization of the Kladno – Kladno-Ostrovec railway line. The city of Kladno has committed to taking over the maintenance of the bridge upon completion and will fund additional connecting sections of the cycling network to integrate the bridge into the existing regional paths.
In Slovakia, the municipality of Tuhár has issued an advisory regarding upcoming changes to the law on reporting the residence of citizens. Effective September 1, 2026, new regulations will limit the maximum duration of a transient residence to five years and restrict individuals to only one simultaneously registered transient residence. The law includes transitional provisions to align existing registrations with these new limits, including specific deadlines for the termination of multiple or overextended residencies.
