Klagenfurt hosts Italian food festival as Graz stages La Strada performances

From July 30 to August 2, Klagenfurt’s Neuer Platz turned into a celebration of Italian cuisine, offering prosciutto, olives, cheeses, grilled dishes and sweets from Apulia. The free‑entry event, supported by Mayor Christian Scheider, also featured live music, folklore and demonstrations of traditional food preparation.

At the same time, Graz’s streets are alive with the La Strada Festival, which brings together 145 artists from 12 nations. Over 80 of the 101 shows are free, encouraging audience participation in acrobatic, dance and interactive performances. Highlights include a Dutch balancing act, a French acrobatic group at Karmeliterplatz, and a Belgian circus tent in Reininghaus, with special programming for children in the Minoritenhof.
