Klaipėda University hosts European Researchers’ Night

Approximately one thousand people gathered at the Klaipėda University campus on September 25 to participate in the ‘European Researchers’ Night’. Under the theme ‘It is bright when you know’, the event featured more than 30 different activities designed to engage the public with science through hands-on experimentation.

Attendees participated in various demonstrations, including chemistry experiments, explorations of renewable energy sources like wind and solar power, and hydrogen fuel cells. Technological showcases included student-developed robots capable of distributing sweets and fruit, as well as demonstrations of robotic systems used in industry.

Klaipėda University serves as the coordinator for the European Researchers’ Night in Lithuania, collaborating with major Lithuanian universities, the Science Island, and regional STEAM centers. Professor Artūras Razbadauskas, rector of the university, noted that the initiative allows universities to work together to demonstrate that science extends beyond the laboratory and into communities, schools, and regions.
