Knauf Insulation Romania posts over €50 million revenue in 2025

Knauf Insulation Romania, part of the Knauf Group, reported that its 2025 turnover exceeded €50 million despite high energy prices and construction‑sector challenges. The company’s new plant in Târnăveni, inaugurated in 2025, boosted operational capacity and helped meet regional demand.

In 2025 the firm supplied mostly glass mineral wool insulation to the Romanian market and exported to Moldova, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Ukraine, Serbia and Montenegro. Demand was driven by thermal‑insulation projects for building renovations, public works, roofs, facades and technical applications. Knauf highlighted the growing market shift toward products offering better fire safety, acoustic comfort and sustainability.

The company urges the implementation of the revised EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, calling for national renovation plans by the end of 2026. It also stresses the importance of multiyear financing programmes, grants and simple access rules to support residential and multifamily building upgrades. Sustainability efforts include products containing up to 80 % recycled material and ongoing investments to lower the company’s carbon footprint.
