Ko Chih-en announces Kaohsiung campaign strategy and temple tour

Kuomintang Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Ko Chih-en has announced a campaign strategy involving 35 grassroots events at local temples. She revealed that former Kaohsiung Mayor and Legislative Yuan President Han Kuo-yu will support her campaign with multiple appearances.

Ko expressed her intention to strengthen existing advantages while targeting specific areas like Fengshan. Her platform focuses on urban development, education, the concert economy, and the transformation of traditional industries. She also raised questions regarding whether the benefits of the semiconductor and AI industries are effectively reaching the general public.

Regarding political cooperation, Ko indicated a willingness to engage with figures from the Taiwan People's Party, such as Ko Wen-je and Huang Kuo-chang, through policy exchange and issue-based collaboration rather than traditional endorsements.

Addressing legislative controversies, Ko defended the Legislative Yuan's authority to review and reduce budgets. She argued that budget delays should be viewed in the context of the Executive Yuan's failure to implement previously passed laws, and clarified that budget cuts to the Ministry of Culture were targeted at specific items rather than a total removal of funding.
