Ko Chih-en intensifies Kaohsiung campaign with major rallies
Kuomintang (KMT) mayoral candidate Ko Chih-en has intensified his campaign in Kaohsiung, drawing significant attention through large-scale rallies and high-profile endorsements.
A major rally held in Fengshan attracted approximately 30,000 attendees, featuring support from prominent political figures including former Legislative Yuan President Wang Jin-pyng and Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an. Observers noted the event's scale as a potential turning point for the KMT in the region. Critics and supporters have debated the economic impact of recent local events, with some questioning whether recent large-scale concerts have translated into tangible economic growth for Kaohsiung citizens.
Furthering his regional outreach, Yunlin County Magistrate Chang Li-shan traveled to Kaohsiung to support Ko. During a meeting with the Kaohsiung Yunlin Hometown Association, Chang highlighted Ko's legislative history and his focus on education and social welfare. Ko expressed his intention to strengthen cooperation between Kaohsiung and Yunlin in areas such as agricultural marketing, tourism, and municipal infrastructure if elected.
