Ko Wen-je supports TPP candidate Chiu Chen-yuan in Zhubei mayoral race

Taiwan People's Party (TPP) Chairman Ko Wen-je joined Zhubei mayoral candidate Chiu Chen-yuan for a campaign visit to local markets and the Zhubei Tianhou Temple. During the event, Ko emphasized that the Greater Hsinchu area is a critical hub for Taiwan's semiconductor industry, noting that residents there maintain high standards for public governance.

Ko advised the campaign team to move beyond online presence and engage directly with grassroots communities through face-to-face interactions. Chiu Chen-yuan expressed a desire to expand support among moderate and local voters, stating his goal is to build as many allies as possible while minimizing political friction.

The appearance of Lin Chi-hsien, Chairman of the Zhubei City Representative Council and a former participant in the Kuomintang's Zhubei mayoral primary, sparked discussions regarding potential cross-party cooperation between the TPP and the KMT. Chiu addressed the interaction by stating that seeking guidance from experienced local leaders is a standard part of campaigning and that future municipal construction would require cooperation with the representative council.
