Ko Young-pyo reaches 15 wins as KT Wiz defeats Samsung Lions

KT Wiz pitcher Ko Young-pyo secured his 15th win of the season during a 12-3 victory against the Samsung Lions at Daegu Samsung Lions Park. With this win, Ko moved into a tie for the league lead in wins alongside LG Twins' Im Chan-kyu, marking his first career title contention in 13 seasons.

Ko, a sidearm pitcher, noted the challenges posed by the Automatic Ball-Strike System (ABS), specifically mentioning how fluctuations in the perceived strike zone can cause confusion for players. He highlighted the importance of physical mechanics and pitch tunneling to adapt to the technology.

Offensively, Sam Hilliard led KT Wiz with a dominant performance, hitting two home runs and recording five RBIs. Hilliard’s performance included hitting home runs in three consecutive plate appearances, tying him for the league lead in home runs and effectively securing the RBI title. The victory extends KT Wiz's winning streak to nine games as they prepare for the Korean Series.
